Retired LEGO Seasonal & Promotional Sets from a UK specialist
BuyMyBricks stocks retired LEGO seasonal sets sealed and verified, sent out tracked across the UK. Seasonal LEGO, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Chinese New Year, Year of the Snake/Dragon/Rabbit, Valentine’s Day, GWPs (gift-with-purchase), retire faster than any other LEGO category. Most retire within 6–12 months. If you missed the seasonal window when a set was current, sealed stock from a specialist is the only realistic option.
What makes retired LEGO seasonal sets desirable
- Shortest production runs of any LEGO category: many seasonal sets only ship for 3–6 months
- Cultural specificity (Chinese zodiac, Christmas Village, Halloween brick-build pumpkins): sealed copies become collector pieces
- GWPs (gift-with-purchase): never sold standalone, can only be obtained sealed via specialists once promotional period ends
- Ideal display pieces: most seasonal builds are designed as standalone display sets
Examples from our range
- LEGO Year of the Snake 40707: 591 pieces, released January 2025 for Chinese New Year, retired same year. The 2025 zodiac collector piece, with two snakes, festival lanterns, and lucky calligraphy.

How we verify sealed seasonal sets
Every seasonal set passes our five-point check: factory seal integrity, set-number-to-barcode match, box condition grading, weight and rattle test, and source provenance. Seasonal sets specifically often have lighter boxes: the rattle test catches missing inner bags fast.
Delivery and returns
Free tracked UK delivery on orders over £85. 30-day returns, full refund. Tracked dispatch within 1 to 2 working days.
Frequently asked questions about retired LEGO Seasonal sets
Where can I buy the LEGO Year of the Snake 40707 sealed in the UK?
BuyMyBricks holds sealed stock of 40707 from our verified UK supplier network. Free tracked UK delivery and 30-day returns.
Why do seasonal LEGO sets retire so fast?
Seasonal sets are tied to a specific cultural moment, Chinese New Year, Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s Day, so production runs are deliberately small to match the calendar window. Once the season passes, LEGO retires the set rather than carrying inventory through the year.
Can I still buy retired LEGO GWPs (gift-with-purchase) anywhere?
Only on the secondary market. GWPs (gift-with-purchase) are never sold standalone: they were originally given free with qualifying LEGO.com orders. Once the GWP promotion ends, sealed copies only appear via specialist retailers like BuyMyBricks and private sellers.
Are LEGO Chinese zodiac sets a good collection?
The Chinese zodiac series (Year of the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse) runs annually and each year retires after the season. Collecting the full zodiac sealed is a popular long-term project. Year of the Snake 40707 is the 2025 entry.
