“Even before I ordered my Lego Defender I was having a good experience with Buy My Bricks, emailed customer service with a few questions and I got a brilliant response.”

Why we rate this set

Star Wars Mini TIE-Fighter 8028

The Star Wars Mini TIE-Fighter set, number 8028, was first released in 2008 as part of the LEGO theme. At just 44 pieces, it offers a compact build for enthusiasts. Now retired and no longer produced, this sealed original is available from BuyMyBricks.

In depth

The full description

The LEGO Star Wars Mini TIE-Fighter (8028) is a compact buildable model of the iconic Imperial starfighter from the original trilogy. This small-scale set captures the distinctive twin-pod design and angular profile of the TIE fighter in approximately 100 pieces, making it an ideal display piece for dedicated Star Wars collectors. The finished model measures around 12cm in length and features the characteristic solar panel wings and central cockpit pod that define this legendary spacecraft.

Set 8028 was discontinued by LEGO over a decade ago and is no longer available through official retail channels. Factory-sealed examples have become increasingly scarce as collectors have opened their copies or as stock has dispersed into the secondary market. This is a genuine sealed unit from BuyMyBricks, the UK's specialist retailer in retired LEGO sets, with the original factory packaging intact and unbuilt contents preserved exactly as manufactured.

Every purchase includes fully tracked UK delivery, so you can monitor your order from collection to arrival. As a sealed set from an officially retired line, this represents the item in its original condition, a complete, untouched example of the 2009 release. Ideal for collectors seeking to complete their Star Wars mini vehicle collection or those simply preferring sealed vintage sets.

Common questions

The things people ask

Is it genuine and factory sealed, and what if it is not?

Every set is checked before it is listed: the factory seals and tape first, then the corners and edges, and anything worth knowing about the box goes on the listing. If a set from us is not genuine and factory sealed, tell me and I refund in full and pay the return postage. We sell sealed retired sets and nothing else, so there is no opened or used stock for yours to get mixed up with. Returns for any other reason are within 30 days, sealed, as the returns policy says.

When will it arrive?

Order before 3pm on a working day and it goes out the same day, tracked and insured. UK orders arrive within 1 to 3 working days, and you get the tracking number by email as soon as it is on its way. Tracked UK delivery is free over £85.

How is it packed, and what if the box arrives damaged?

The set box travels inside a second carton with fill, so the courier handles the outer box and not the one you are keeping, and every parcel is insured to its full value. If it still turns up damaged, photograph the outer packaging and the set box before you unpack any further, then email support@buymybricks.com with the photos and your order number the same day. We reply the same working day with a replacement if we have one or a full refund, and we deal with the courier claim ourselves so you do not have to.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Yes to the United States and Canada, with tracked and insured delivery costed at checkout before you pay. We do not ship to the EU at the moment. Everywhere in the UK is covered by the standard tracked service.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery. If it arrived damaged or not as described, tell us and we pay the return postage and refund in full or replace it. If you have simply changed your mind, the set needs to come back sealed and as it arrived, and the return postage is yours. The refund goes back to the card you paid with within 3 working days of the set landing back with us. Use a tracked service so there is proof of delivery.

Is there a discount code?

Yes. Join the email list on any page and your first-order code comes through in the first email, along with what has just landed. We do not print the code on the site, so the list is the way to get it.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. Klarna Pay in 3 is at checkout: three equal payments, no interest and nothing extra to pay. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay are all there too. Payment is handled by Shopify Payments and we never see your card details.

Is it going to be a gift?

Tell us in the order notes at checkout and no prices or invoice go in the parcel. Sending it straight to them is fine: put their address as the delivery address and keep yours as the billing address.

Can I have a VAT invoice?

Yes. We are VAT registered and every price on the site already includes VAT. Reply to your order confirmation asking for one and it comes back the same working day. For a business or bulk order, email support@buymybricks.com before you buy and we will sort an itemised invoice.

Not the set you want?

Tell us the set number and we will look for a sealed one through the trade. If we find one at a sensible price you get an email with the link before it goes on the site. Ask us to find it.

Not answered here? Email support@buymybricks.com or ring 01904 900212. A person reads it, usually the same day.
