What you are actually buying
What turns up at your door
The sealed box itselfThe set in its original factory-sealed box, not a bagged or re-boxed copy. Seals and tape are checked before it is listed.
Any box wear, written downRetired boxes have been in lofts and on shelves. Anything worth knowing is on the listing before you buy, not after.
Packed to survive the courierBoxed inside a second carton with fill, so the set box is not the thing taking the knocks.
Tracked and insured, every orderYou get the tracking number the day it leaves. If it is lost or damaged in transit that is ours to sort, not yours.
Why we rate this set
Technic Crane Truck 8258
LEGO Technic Crane Truck 8258 is a big four-axle cab-over truck with a motorised crane, built from 1,877 pieces. Power Functions drive the crane arm, which unfolds, raises, lowers and swivels 360 degrees, and the outriggers extend to steady it. The cab opens to show a V8 engine with moving pistons.
It was released in 2009 and retired in 2011, and it rebuilds into a Duty Wrecker. What you're buying from us is a sealed, original example sourced from verified suppliers and inspected before listing.

Common questions
The things people ask
Is it genuine and factory sealed, and what if it is not?
Every set is checked before it is listed: the factory seals and tape first, then the corners and edges, and anything worth knowing about the box goes on the listing. If a set from us is not genuine and factory sealed, tell me and I refund in full and pay the return postage. We sell sealed retired sets and nothing else, so there is no opened or used stock for yours to get mixed up with. Returns for any other reason are within 30 days, sealed, as the returns policy says.
When will it arrive?
This one is dispatched within 3 to 7 working days, tracked and insured. You get the tracking number by email as soon as it is on its way, and tracked UK delivery is free over £85.
How is it packed, and what if the box arrives damaged?
The set box travels inside a second carton with fill, so the courier handles the outer box and not the one you are keeping, and every parcel is insured to its full value. If it still turns up damaged, photograph the outer packaging and the set box before you unpack any further, then email support@buymybricks.com with the photos and your order number the same day. We reply the same working day with a replacement if we have one or a full refund, and we deal with the courier claim ourselves so you do not have to.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes to the United States and Canada, with tracked and insured delivery costed at checkout before you pay. We do not ship to the EU at the moment. Everywhere in the UK is covered by the standard tracked service.
Can I return it?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery. If it arrived damaged or not as described, tell us and we pay the return postage and refund in full or replace it. If you have simply changed your mind, the set needs to come back sealed and as it arrived, and the return postage is yours. The refund goes back to the card you paid with within 3 working days of the set landing back with us. Use a tracked service so there is proof of delivery.
Is there a discount code?
Yes. Join the email list on any page and your first-order code comes through in the first email, along with what has just landed. We do not print the code on the site, so the list is the way to get it.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Klarna Pay in 3 is at checkout: three equal payments, no interest and nothing extra to pay. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay are all there too. Payment is handled by Shopify Payments and we never see your card details.
Is it going to be a gift?
Tell us in the order notes at checkout and no prices or invoice go in the parcel. Sending it straight to them is fine: put their address as the delivery address and keep yours as the billing address.
Can I have a VAT invoice?
Yes. We are VAT registered and every price on the site already includes VAT. Reply to your order confirmation asking for one and it comes back the same working day. For a business or bulk order, email support@buymybricks.com before you buy and we will sort an itemised invoice.
Not the set you want?
Tell us the set number and we will look for a sealed one through the trade. If we find one at a sensible price you get an email with the link before it goes on the site. Ask us to find it.
